AMPlified Success: Jenna Meyer

Meet Jenna Meyer, Digital Inside Sales Classroom Trainer and Senior Account Manager, and read about her career journey at AMP.

I have been with AMP for a little over a year. I actually just had my one year anniversary a few weeks ago! I have grown so much over the last year and I can’t wait to see what my second year with the company brings.

I started with the company as an Associate Account Manager prospecting new business over the phone. I quickly became an Account Manager, where I started managing accounts and building relationships with current customers, while still focusing on new business and new digital revenue. Prior to joining AMP, I went to college at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where I majored in Marketing. Throughout my college career, I had several different marketing internships that led me to gaining a lot of valuable experience that I find extremely helpful in my work today.

My current role is Digital Inside Sales Classroom Trainer and Senior Account Manager. As the Classroom Trainer I work to develop new reps, both in and out of the classroom. I do consistent training with them in order to teach them AMP’s best practices. As a Senior Account Manager, I work closely with current customers to enhance their online presence. I build really good relationships with customers as I maintain their accounts over the course of the year. However, I am also responsible for driving revenue through new business and customer retention. I think the most important part of my job is being able to be a consistent learner. There isn’t a day that goes by where I am not learning something new, whether it’s learning from my own experiences or from someone around me. That is actually what I enjoy most about my job. I have learned new things from my manager, coworkers, customers, and many others. The more you are able to adapt to change and open your mind to what other people are teaching you, the more successful you will be!

The company culture is what attracted me to AMP. When I came in to interview, I instantly knew that the work environment was the type of environment that I could imagine myself working and growing in. You come to work every single day, surrounded by positive and encouraging people, and it’s a very good feeling. I would not be where I am today without the people around me. Everyone is so uplifting and it’s nice to know that you can come to work every single day and be around people that want to see you succeed. The most important thing to me about the culture at AMP is that every day you come to work, you are surrounded by people who want to see you succeed. The management is so supportive of your goals, holds you accountable, and provides you the training and tools that you need to get you to where you want to be. When you are around people that are constantly rooting for you, you are set up to be a lot more successful. Since the moment I started at AMP, the people around me have known what my goals are, how far I have come, and have cheered me on along the way. I couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of a team that is always lifting me up.

When asked how she would describe her team and their successes, I would describe my team as the hardest working and most determined people that I know. From the moment I started with AMP, the sky has been the limit for us. We set goals, very high goals, and we seem to exceed them over and over. Once we hit one goal, we move on to the next. We never stop working and striving to be better. I couldn’t be more proud to be part of something so great. A team success that sticks out to me that I am extremely proud of is how well we have adapted to all of the change that we have come across in 2020. A lot of us are now in different working environments, working from home, transitioning in and out of the office, and are out of our normal routines, but we are still managing to overcome every obstacle that has come our way. In fact, we hit our biggest month of revenue ever in the month of May.

I define success by always striving to be your best. However, to do this I believe it is so important to set concrete goals for yourself. If you know where you’re heading and where you want to be, that creates a more successful person. Every week and every month I set goals for myself and I write them down, which makes it more set in stone for me to have to reach for them. I feel more successful as I cross goals off my list and find myself achieving the goals I have clearly written for myself because they are right in front of me. I truly believe that a person is more successful if they know exactly what they want and what they are striving for. When you get there, it feels great! In my first year with AMP, I was ranked among the top rookies in the company. I was ranked #8 in the entire company. I am always working to be better and better!

The best advice I would give to someone start out at AMP is to come in with an extremely positive and go-getter attitude. I think that being extremely positive and driven has taken me a long way over the course of this past year. Having a positive mindset is extremely important in this role, as you are constantly learning and growing each day. Eliminating stress and negativity leads to so much more productivity, which makes you a stronger sales rep. When you are happy and more motivated, you are more willing to invest your energy into ensuring the best results for yourself and your team.

I define success by always striving to be your best. I feel more successful as I cross goals off my list and find myself achieving the goals I have clearly written for myself because they are right in front of me.
