AMPlified Success: Asia Robinson

Meet Asia Robinson, Manager of AMP Support Services, and read about her career journey at AMP.

I started my career with American Marketing & Publishing in June of 2018. After working in the service industry and going to school for teaching I realized I wanted a career change. I began working in Field Sales as a Traditional Field Sales Rep, and after a few short weeks in that role, I saw that there was an opening in Contract Entry. I interviewed with Karen Bourdage, Chief Operations Officer, and shortly after started with the Contract Entry team. I happily began driving the 45+ minute commute to work each way knowing that I was making a difference helping small business owners. A year later I was promoted to the Team Lead of the Contract Entry team and was very excited to start yet another journey at AMP!

After COVID hit and we returned to office, the Contract Entry team had a change in leadership. Reporting to my new leader, Jen Bock, I learned about an entire new side of the business and I began to expand my knowledge. Working with Jen over the last three years has taught me many things, and a lot that still stands true today. I learned not to be afraid to throw my hat in the ring when opportunity presents itself, and that being helpful and supportive to all AMP employees is the most important thing.

In 2021, an opportunity presented itself and, taking Jen’s advice, I threw my hat in the ring and began piloting what is now the Onboarding Support department. This role required me to go out of my comfort zone, speak to customers, and work with a product that I knew little about, but it turned out to be one of my best decisions yet. I began training on all things OPTIMA™ and creating a process for the new role. A few months later, I was shocked and excited to learn that I had won the prestigious Manager of the Year award for 2022. Learning this news made me immediately think back to the start of piloting the new role, and all that I had learned in the process. I knew that stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things was going to be my new goal! This gave me the motivation and drive to keep working hard and expand my knowledge on all things AMP.

In 2022, I stepped out of my comfort zone again and moved away from Contract Entry to take on the role of Manager of Onboarding Support. Spending 2022 and 2023 overseeing and working closely with Onboarding Support, Digital Onboarding, and GSV Scheduling continued to expand my knowledge and gave me more opportunities to speak with AMP Customers. And the growth steadily continued, as earlier this year I welcomed a new exciting challenge by overseeing Customer Support while still growing the same teams I started 2023 with! This new journey has proven to be the most exciting, and my drive to help AMP and our customers was only amplified when taking this next step.

Throughout my time with AMP, I have grown both personally and professionally. I still remember back in my first days at AMP when Chad Campbell, Chief Revenue Officer, showed all of us a picture of a big circle labeled “Your Comfort Zone” and another smaller circle next to it labeled “Success” and have kept that in mind since. Every step I have taken at AMP has required me to step outside of my comfort zone and has proven to be nothing but successful. I am more excited than ever to take on any and all opportunities that arise in the future and I believe that the best is yet to come in my next journey with AMP!

Mason Fisher, Digital Onboarding Coordinator, shared this about Asia,

“Asia is an exemplary leader and I’m grateful to work closely with her. Every day, Asia inspires our department to work hard through feet-on-the-ground leadership and an infectious passion to do the best that we can for our customers. When my team transitioned departments, we were immediately welcomed with open arms into the Support Services family. Asia encourages the family atmosphere of our team with potlucks and celebrations for holidays and life milestones, which fosters a truly collaborative environment in the department. I can’t imagine my AMP journey without Asia!”

Jen Bock, Director of AMP Support Services, had this to say about Asia,

“Asia is my right hand person. She is open to change, oftentimes proactively looking for solutions for improvements. Whenever approached with a new idea, or with an opportunity for the team to learn something new, she is the first person to be by my side, excited to take on the challenge. As a leader, nothing is more rewarding than observing someone on your team grow and invest in themselves. It has been on honor to be work alongside Asia on her journey here at AMP, and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her.”
