Jamie Heymann Promoted to AMP’s Corporate Digital Training Manager

Congratulations to Jamie Heymann on her promotion to AMP’s Corporate Digital Training Manager!

In this role, Jamie will be responsible for updating, standardizing, and most importantly, implementing the classroom sales training for all of our digital products.  The objective of this position is to ensure that digital sales training at AMP is a consistent, career-long process.  Across the entire company, from the newest sales trainee to the most tenured sales person, it is Jamie’s role to ensure that we all have deep product knowledge, high product confidence, and strong sales making capacity.  Towards that end, Jamie will be present regularly in every district office this year.  This is a travel intensive position, working one on one with managers and sales team members to deliver classroom training and to regularly be ‘in the car’ alongside the people who shake hands with customers and close sales.

To say that this is a very important role in the company at the outset of 2019 is to nearly understate the matter.  As our Corporate Digital Trainer, Jamie’s work will factor centrally in the achievement of each one of our companywide objectives for the year.  As we continue to gradually and thoughtfully make our digital products better and more valuable, consistent digital training will be key.  While we gradually and then more aggressively push the geographic boundaries of the company with digital teams, consistent training will be key.  In a year when we will purposefully prioritize great service to our clients, and in a year that we endeavor to make AMP the absolute best career experience in the entire local media industry, great training will play a foundational role.

Jamie’s years of exemplary service to AMP distinguish her as a perfect fit to this role.  Jamie joined the company in June of 2010 as a First-in Rep in Eastern Iowa, working in expansion start-up markets where we had no brand and no customers, and also in renewal HomePages® communities.  A proud product of the West Region, Jamie’s trajectory over the next eight and a half years was exemplified by increasing personal responsibility and consistent strong results.  In Eastern Iowa, Jamie first earned promotions to Senior Sales Rep, then to Assistant District Manager, and then Field Trainer.

Three years after she joined AMP, when we needed a capable individual to run our small, three person Nashville TN marketplace, Jamie saw an opportunity to take a very gutsy, very large step forward in her career.  With her family backing her up, Jamie moved seven hours from the community she grew up in to take on that District Manager job.  As the Nashville District Manager, Jamie was honored as the recipient of the 2016 Field General Award.  She became the first District Manager in the history of AMP to achieve $1 Million in district digital sales.  She oversaw this expansion of AMP into Huntsville, AL.  And in addition, Jamie had the distinction of developing some of the very best sales people at AMP, including the 2017 Digital Rookie of the Year Lorri Allen, and the Rookie Rep of the Year, Joy Collins, who is today a highly successful District Manager.  In the words of her longtime AMP boss and mentor Steve Ruckdaschel, “Few individuals have contributed more to the sales organization as has Jamie Heymann.  She has a unique ability to demonstrate and communicate a selling process to the point that it is easy to understand and execute.  She’s going to be exceptional in this role.”

On a personal level, Jamie is the type of good person who we are all proud to be affiliated with at AMP.  She is a native of the Quad Cities area where she now again lives, and she’s a graduate of Western Illinois University, majoring in political science.  Before AMP, Jamie worked in retail sales and management for a large department store, and also served as a political director for a congressional candidate.  Jamie and her husband Brian have three great children, and as a family they enjoy sports and travel, including in recent years to destinations all across the US, from the Alamo to the Grand Canyon, to the Catalina Islands and Washington D.C.  She likes to say they’re like the Griswolds – – if there’s a landmark, they’re on their way!

Congratulations Jamie on this important new role!
