Congratulations to Alex Ferrell on his promotion to Network Operations Coordinator!
In the role of Network Operations Coordinator, Alex will be both coordinating ongoing network security enhancements and facilitating network performance improvements alongside our Managed Services Providers and network infrastructure vendors. In addition, Alex will be responsible for training the newest member of our Network Operations/Help Desk team. While balancing time between infrastructure projects and new hire training, Alex will continue to be an unstoppable Zendesk ticket management force supporting our AMP business users.
Alex was peer nominated and won Employee of the Month twice in an 8 month span, once in October 2020 and then again in May 2021.
- October 2020 Employee of the Month: IT nominated Alex Ferrell for Employee of the Month because of his dedication to not only fixing the issue the first time but walking the user through what happened so they have an understanding of why it occurred. Alex has fantastic phone skills and can often be heard repeating directions, offering to provide documentation steps and urging them to give him a call back if it happens again. He never seems frustrated or stressed and tends to give a “chill” vibe for all those around him, which is helpful during these “unprecedented” times.
- May 2021 Employee of the Month: The Recruiting Team nominated Alex Ferrell for Employee of the Month. Our department recently had 2 new hires and Alex did a great job helping us get these employee’s laptops set up and sent out to them. He has also helped us numerous times with IT issues such as setting up phone listening almost daily, to reporting problems, to computer problems. Alex is always quick to help, and sees a job through until fixed. Thank you Alex for all your help in keeping our always changing department up and running. We appreciate you!
If you have had an opportunity to work with Alex troubleshooting a hardware or software issue, you already know that he is patient with end users and incredibly knowledgeable on all things system related. If he does not know an answer, he researches the issue until he can bring forth a resolution. Alex approaches his responsibilities with fierce tenacity, and his calm, cool exterior in the face of difficult situations exemplify pure professionalism.
Alex joined the AMP family in October 2019 as an IT Help Desk – Tier 1. He quickly demonstrated a strong IT knowledgebase and became a trusted source of information for AMP end users. Alex has continued to pursue educational opportunities which further his overall infrastructure related troubleshooting and project-based capabilities.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his friends, hiking, creating digital art and gaming.
