Janelle Hannon Promoted to Director of Inside Sales New Business Development

Congratulations to Janelle Hannon on her promotion to Director of Inside Sales New Business Development!

Janelle joined AMP nearly 16 years ago, right out of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Marketing. Even before AMP, hard work was part of who Janelle was. She grew up working at her family’s business, Johansen Farms, and while attending SIU served as Vice President of Sales for her Marketing Fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, while also working full time.

From the beginning, Janelle was incredibly goal driven. She has always been someone who sets a big goal for herself, creates a plan to get there, and then gets to work. Early in her career, she would set monthly goals to beat her performance from the prior year. In 2012, she averaged $20,784 in monthly sales and 43 unique accounts per month, ranking #5 in the entire company for accounts sold. The following year, she increased that to $22,852 in monthly sales and 45 unique accounts per month. That desire to continually get better has followed Janelle throughout her entire AMP career.

Janelle started selling print as an upseller and cross seller, when that was all our Inside Sales team did. As AMP grew and changed, Janelle continually took on the next challenge. She helped pioneer selling new print business over the phone and taking books from start to finish. When we challenged Inside Sales to begin selling our digital products over the phone, Janelle took that on too.

When Janelle was promoted to Assistant Inside Sales Manager early in her career, she shared that her goals were to beat everything she had accomplished the year before, win the company trip again, and save enough money to buy her first home. As her career continued, those goals grew beyond what she could accomplish individually. Janelle took what she had learned as a successful salesperson and figured out how to teach it to others, becoming a leader who could help other people achieve results they may not have believed were possible for themselves.

Nearly 16 years later, Janelle has personally sold $3,254,347 in lifetime sales at AMP, including more than $500,000 in OPTIMA™. What makes those numbers even more impressive is that she has accomplished so much of that while simultaneously leading teams, coaching sellers, developing people, and helping us build new areas of our business. Under her leadership, her team has now sold nearly $2 million in OPTIMA™.

Janelle’s list of accomplishments over nearly 16 years is long. She is a three time Inside Sales Rep of the Year, a multiple time Leadership Summit and Distinguished Sales Award winner, and has earned more than 10 Presidential Achievement Awards during her tenure at AMP. Those accomplishments speak not only to how talented Janelle is, but to the consistency she has demonstrated year after year.

While Janelle has grown tremendously in her career, we have also had the privilege of watching her life grow outside of AMP. Janelle married her college sweetheart, Luke, and together they have a very full life raising their three young children, Sophia, Liam, and Nolan. She is an avid runner and is currently training for an upcoming half marathon. Anyone in our fitness accountability group knows that Janelle isn’t just working toward her own goal either. She is constantly cheering everyone else on and encouraging them to keep going.

Janelle also loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She recently returned from a dream trip to Portugal, adding another memorable experience to a career filled with goals, milestones, and plenty of hard work along the way.

In her new role as Director of Inside Sales New Business Development, Janelle will lead our continued effort to build a larger and stronger new business organization, develop successful sellers and future leaders, strengthen how we acquire new customers, and continue expanding what Inside Sales can contribute to AMP’s growth.

Congratulations, Janelle, on this well-deserved promotion!
