CloseBy® Text Marketing Customer Spotlight: October 2022 – The Brown Bag Bistro

Every month, we choose a CloseBy® Text Marketing customer to spotlight and send out their tips and tricks on staying successful with the CloseBy® Text Marketing program to all of our active text customers.

This month, we reached out to Erin Velloff, owner of The Brown Bag Bistro, to learn her secrets behind how she grows her text list, her favorite part of the text program, and all the ways she successful navigates the CloseBy® Text Marketing program.

What messages do you feel bring you the most ROI?

“I think that promotional text messages have been the most beneficial for us. We know that when the weather isn’t great or if it’s rainy we’ll make sure to send out a deal of the day to drive that extra foot traffic that we could be missing.”

What has the text program done for your business?
“We’ve always had really loyal customers. Some customers come 3-4 times a week! Since we’ve added the text program, we find that we are gaining more and more loyal customers that will come back in the door multiple times a week.”

Have you found the program easy to use?

“Oh yeah, super easy to use! I love that I can schedule the messages out too. I’m always busy running around the business, so when I have a few minutes to sit down and schedule out my messages it makes it so much easier to get other things taken care of.”

What do you think has been the best way to promote the program for your type of business?

“We make sure that our staff is always asking customers to join! Our opt-in offer is 50% off pretzels or cheesy garlic bread. When customers are checking out and our staff notices they are purchasing one or the other they will say, ‘Hey! You should join our text club and you’ll get 50% off.'”

What’s your favorite part of the text program?

“We love the feedback we get! Having customers come through the door and tell us they came in because of text is the best part. It really shows how powerful one text can be for us as a business. We also love that our customers love the birthday club. Birthdays are always so fun and to have people come and spend their birthday with us is exciting!”

Erin and the rest of the team over at The Brown Bag Bistro have been working closely with their Text Account Manager, Raegan Fingerman, to craft text message ideas that captivate their customer’s attention and keep their business top of mind. Erin let us know that the most beneficial messages have included their customer’s favorite menu items. They even did an interactive message a while back where they polled their customers, asking them what their favorite menu items were, so they knew what to focus on to get those customers coming back through the door.
