This month, we reached out to Milea Hayes, owner of Bohemia, to learn their secrets behind how they grow their text list, their favorite part of the text program, and all the ways they successfully navigate the CloseBy

What is a typical response you receive when you send a message?
“I usually will get at least 5-10 people in after I send a message. I have a list of over 100 right now, which is great response!”
Have you found the program easy to use?
“Yes! The format of the online system is easy to use. I can log in from my phone, laptop or iPad and send a quick message whenever I am thinking about it. It’s also been really nice to have the option to schedule out my messages. I also find that the QR codes have made it so much easier to get customers to join our text program.”
What do you think has been the best way to promote the program for your type of business?
“The best way for me has been to actually talk to my customers at check out. I have the flyers on the door, at checkout, and around the shop. I usually just tell them ‘You might want to join my VIP text group to find out more about specials and other deals that people don’t see normally.’ Customers will ask me if I have any discounts or deals going on, and that’s been a good time for me to guide them to join the program to get 10% OFF their purchase right away. Or if it’s someone that comes in a lot I like to tell them to join.”
What’s your favorite message you have sent out?
“My favorite message was: ‘Saturday fun at Bohemia! Hearts & Arts event with 4 Artists Pop-Ups from 12-5, sweet treats and specials all day! Treat yourself and bring a friend!’ We had a great response that weekend and it was fun to have an event!”
What’s your favorite part of the text program?
“My favorite part of the program is when I have someone come in and say ‘Hey! I got your text!’ When I have customers come in after I send a message out it makes me happy to know that it’s generating more business through the door.”
Milea has been working closely with their Text Account Manager, Raegan Fingerman to create text messages that promote their inventory and keep them top of mind with their customers. Milea noted that their most successful messages have been their announcement messages, where they can promote new inventory they have in stock.
