Team AMP Volunteers at Feed My Starving Children

A huge part of our mission at AMP centers around our local communities and how we can help our neighbors prosper. This past week, AMP team members from our corporate office in DeKalb got together to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children’s location in our neighboring city of Sycamore.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization with a mission to feed children burdened by hunger, all over the world. FMSC.org describes it best, “Our process is simple. Donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!”

Year after year we volunteer with Feed My Starving Children, not only because it is impactful work for our community, but because it strengthens the bonds within our AMP family. Ebony Scott, a member of our OPTIMA™ team and frequent FMSC volunteer said, “Not only is it a fun time getting to chat with coworkers and the community while dancing to the music, we are making a difference in the lives of so many children.”

In two days, we had three large groups of our staff members attend packing events at FMSC. Throughout these events, our AMP team members partnered up with many other community organizations, with a single mission in mind: pack as many meals as possible to help feed these children! The packing events each lasted two hours and were filled with cheering, good music, and meeting new friends.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities in your own community, AMP’s Volunteer Paid Time Off (VPTO) program is the perfect way to get involved! AMP employees with 4 months of tenure under their belt are eligible for VPTO. Full time employees are allotted 8 hours and part time employees are allotted 4 hours each year.
